COMMUNITY OUTREACH

The MCMS Community Outreach Committee continues to be an integral part of the
Montgomery County general community. 

The committee works with the MC DHHS Obesity Prevention Strategy Group on the issue of obesity among the county’s children. The group meets monthly. The mission of the group is to,” share in its mission to prevent obesity and its devastating health and economic consequences.” MCMS will list information on the MCMS website, as well as include articles in Rounds  and in the e/fax bi-monthly newsletter abut ways to discuss the obesity issue with patients. 

The MCMS Community Outreach Committee will also list information relating to county clinics, etc. that are of interest to physicians, staff and patients.

The Speakers Bureau offers a venue for MCMS members to present medically related information within the MCPS system, eldercare facilities and other related venues when requested.
The Community Outreach committee will continue to work within the community as needed.
